American Athletic Conference
Navy: A Navy gameday in Annapolis blends pageantry, history, and a great environment for some football. The stadium sits steps from downtown, with Main Street a mile walk away and plenty of pregame spots right across the road. Inside you have a 5 year average of 32,000+ packed into a 34,000 seat bowl, and if you don't like grass hill seating you must be a geezer. The tie breaker over Army is the fact that here you can get a beer at the game, a factor that cannot be overlooked. One of the more unique Saturdays in the sport is our AAC choice for best gameday atmosphere. It was good enough for the Olympics in 1984, its good enough for us.
Conference USA
UTEP: UTEP may not be a football powerhouse, but the setting is undeniably one of a kind. Games are played in the Sun Bowl, home of the second oldest bowl game in the country, perched in the Mountains with views overlooking the Mexican border. Their campus architecture stands out with a style you won't find anywhere else. In a conference without a signature gameday atmosphere UTEP leans on vibe, history, and geography to deliver something different but memorable.
Mid-American Conference
Toledo: Maction at the Glass Bowl hits different. There's an actual rocket aimed dead at Bowling Green's 50 yard line, a not so subtle message to their rivals. Even with regular midweek games the Rockets outdraw bigger name schools like Tulane (better average attendance last 5 seasons), showing up strong in a stadium they've called home since 1937. And its not just for show, Toledo is 15-3 at home over the last 3 seasons and hasn't had a losing record there in the 21st century. Where weekday football is most electric, its worth making it to a game here if you haven't already.
Mountain West Conference
Boise State: Boise gamedays are a full state event. The stadium sits right on the river in the heart of town, with no pro teams to compete with the Broncos are the main attraction. Every home game is basically a sellout. The iconic blue turf is as much a part of the identity as the team itself. From 1999 to 2014 Boise went an absurd 100-4 at home, one of the most dominant stretches in FBS history. College football doesn't just live in Boise, it runs the show.
Sun Belt Conference
App State: Saturday's in Boone are pure chaos in the best way. A town of under 20,000 welcomes in 30,000+ rowdy fans every home game. Bars overflow and tailgates stretch as far as the eye can see. Kidd Brewer Stadium, tucked into the Blue Ridge Mountains, delivers a backdrop of fiery fall colors and a wall of noise that fuels one of college football's true home field advantages. App State leads the Sun Belt in attendance by thousands, regularly stuffing 35k+ into a 30k seat stadium. With a dominant 277-81 record at The Rock, visiting fans shouldn't get their hopes too high.
