Team History
A golden era in the 1940's. They were the cream of the crop in the Missouri Valley Conference, winning 25 conference titles in their 50 years of membership during the 20th century. They have been inconsistent lately, but are usually competitive and have consistently made bowl games in the 21st century. Currently in a bit of a lull, we'll see if a new coach can right the ship.

To start the 1940s they went 7 straight years never losing more than 3 games in a season. 4 of those seasons they finished ranked in the top 17 of the AP poll. They played in an Orange Bowl and 2 Sugar Bowls during this run as well.
Rock Bottom
In the early 2000's they had back to back 1 win seasons. Both season's had them ranked in the 100's in both offense and defense.
Best Ever Player
Lovie Smith (S, 1976-1979): Three time all conference. 2 time second team All American. Steve Largent would also be a valid choice here.
Best Ever Coach
Henry Frnka (1941-1945): The team was consistently in the AP polls. In the 1940's there were only 5 bowl games, and Tulsa played in a bowl each year in this tenure.
