Team History
FIU started playing football in 2002, and joined the FBS in 2004. Under Mario Cristobal and Butch Davis they've shown flashes of success, appearing in 5 bowl games and winning the 2010 Sun Belt championship. They haven't done better than 4-8 in the last 5 seasons, but new coach Willie Simmons may provide some reasons for optimism for how well he did at FAMU.
