Team History

In the 90's and 2000's they had some team's that captivated the country. However the location offers some unique challenges that have been hard to overcome. Travel to your road games is brutal no matter what and building any type of facility is significantly more expensive than on the mainland. They played in Aloha Stadium until it closed in 2020, now they are playing in a temporary facility on campus until their new stadium opens in 2028.

Peak of Program

In 2007 they followed up an 11 win season with an undefeated regular season and conference championship, playing Georgia in the Sugar Bowl. They had the #1 scoring offense in the country both these seasons.

Rock Bottom

In the late 90's Fred Vonappen got 3 seasons and won 5 total games, ending in a goose egg that last season. Which makes what June Jones pulled off inheriting his mess even more impressive.

Best Ever Player

Colt Brennan (QB, 2005–2007): A two time 3rd team All American. He is 14th on the all time NCAA passing yards leaderboard and 6th on the all time passing touchdowns list.

Best Ever Coach

June Jones (1999–2007): The winningest coach in school history, he led them to 2 conference championships. Was selected by many publications as the 1999 national coach of the year.
