They won an FCS national title in 1987 and moved up to FBS in 1994. Since then they haven't done much winning, only appearing in 1 bowl game and posting 3 winning records. In his first year Bryant Vincent showed promise, winning 5 games which was the most here in 5 years.

Stan Humphries (QB, 1984-1987): The quarterback of their FCS championship team, he threw for 4400 yards in 2 seasons.
Best Ever Coach
Charlie Weatherbie (2003–09): Inherited a team winning 1-2 games a year, and averaged 5 wins a season for his last 6 seasons there. Raising the floor and putting together an upset over Nick Saban's Alabama team.
