Team History
Joined the FBS in 1996, took 2 years to get adjusted, and haven't had a losing season since. Known as THE mid major power in college football, they have 19 double digit win seasons in the last 25 years. They have the 5th highest winning percentage in FBS history. Spencer Danielson hasn't shown any reason to believe that level of success will dip, but we have yet to see him coach a game without Ashton Jeanty.

Quick Facts
Peak of Program
In the Kellen Moore years from 2008-2011 they went a combined 50-3. They finished in the top 11 of the AP poll each season, in 2010 they peaked at #2 in the polls and would have played for the National Championship if it wasn't for some missed field goals in Nevada.
Rock Bottom
I guess the Andy Avalos years from 2021-2023. 15 losses in 3 years. Pretty crazy when your rock bottom still doesn't include a losing season.
Best Ever Player
Ashton Jeanty (RB, 2022-2024): Easily could go Kellen Moore, but Jeanty finished 2nd in the Heisman voting and dragged Boise to the playoffs for the first time ever. He finished 2024 with 2600 yards rushing and 29 touchdowns.
Best Ever Coach
Chris Petersen (2006–2013): Went 92–13 (.876) with three undefeated seasons and multiple Fiesta Bowl wins. Until his last season had never lost more than 2 games in a year.
